Formerly the Royal Marine Library of John Wallis, Bookseller by Appointment to the Duke and Duchess of Kent.
Established here c. 1813. Publisher, bookseller and business associate of R. Ackerman of Strand London. Much knowledge of early 19th C. Where is this plaque located?
As you leave the Cricket Pavilion head back along Fortfield Terrace. At the end turn right and head towards the sea front until you reach a safe point to cross the road. The Bedford Hotel is on the corner and the plaque is on the front facade of the Hotel fairly low down facing out towards the Esplanade.
The next plaque is located at The The Belmont Hotel.
